Facebook Is Using You

A somewhat alarmist article about how Facebook generates it’s revenue and how it’s storage of data might be used by third parties such as governments. Many fail to see the long-term implications of putting a large amount of information on such a medium, well beyond the point where they have control over it.

However, this should come as no surprise, it’s essentially how the majority of the internet works, to deliver you free services. Everywhere you visit, a more and more complete virtual profile of you is being built, to be used and to sell on to others.

If you have privacy concerns, the options are clear – either employ countermeasures or minimise your use of these services.
