Android – Introducing Ice Cream Sandwich

Android 4.0 features explained in human-readable format. If ICS represents a diversion towards a more user-friendly and appealing OS, as Duarte insists, it will be long overdue. Now that Android is passing 550,000 activations a day, it must become usable by the masses, not just the enthusiasts. This is well an truly a challenge of controlling the platform people use for the next decade.

Note the JS performance improvement in the 4.0 browser amongst many feature improvements. Interesting to note (not pictured) that Google+ sign-up is emphasised as part of the one-time init, as well as credit card information (ala Apple ID), removing one of the barriers to purchasing down the road. This should tie in nicely with Wallet and the in-built NFC that will eventually become standardised.
